NBA star Anthony Edwards is taking a firm stance in his ongoing custody battle with ex Ayesha Howard, accusing her of using their infant daughter, Aubri’ Summers Howard, for financial gain on social media.

In new court filings obtained by Us Weekly, the Minnesota Timberwolves guard and his legal team allege that Ayesha has turned their custody dispute into public content. Edwards claimed his ex “… has explicitly transformed these proceedings into public entertainment… ,” noting that she recently invited her online followers to “look into” the private case.

“Every court filing becomes a post, every hearing becomes content, and every delay allows continued exploitation of this infant child who cannot consent to becoming a digital commodity,” the athlete’s attorney wrote in the filing.

He added, “The evidence before the Court establishes that Ayesha treats the minor child as a revenue-generating asset.”

According to Anthony’s legal team, Ayesha has “publicly admitted to forcing her distressed child to continue performing for social media content, stating, ‘my baby is over content for the day, but momma gotta get back to work.’”

The 24-year-old and his legal team also allege that the 38-year-old arranges appearances for her daughter alongside sponsored product placements, “… monetizing every moment of this infant’s existence.”

The filing continues alleging that, “Each court filing generates posts about her ‘fight’ for her child. Each denial becomes evidence of ‘injustice’ to share with followers. Each court appearance provides content for stories and updates. She has discovered that perpetual conflict is more profitable than resolution, and this innocent child pays the price through ongoing instability and public exposure.”

Anthony, who shares custody disputes in both Georgia and California, stated through his legal team that his goal is to “wrap up this court battle as soon as possible.” The two have been in litigation since their daughter’s birth in October 2024, and Howard currently has sole legal and physical custody under a ruling from a Los Angeles judge.
Ayesha, however, rejected the implication that Anthony’s financial requests were tied to custody terms.

“I want to make it clear that my request for compensation was never tied to agreeing to any custody orders,” she told Us Weekly.  “I asked for compensation due to the substantial financial and reputational damages I’ve endured during this prolonged litigation with Anthony Edwards.”

The brand ambassador and musician also shares a son with rapper Lil Baby and is said to be co-parenting amid Anthony’s separate paternity dispute with another ex, Alexandria Desroches, who claims the NBA star fathered her child born in October 2023.
