The beloved series The Way Home is now at the midpoint of its thrilling fourth and final season, promising more exciting adventures for the time-traveling family fans have grown to love.

The fifth episode of The Way Home Season 4, titled “Don’t Cry Out Loud,” premiered on Hallmark Channel this past Sunday (May 17). In this episode, viewers watched as Nick (portrayed by Kerry James) embarked on his maiden time-traveling journey with Kat (played by Chyler Leigh) back to 1925. Their mission was to uncover the whereabouts of Elliot’s (Evan Williams) mother, Tessa. Simultaneously, Elliot and Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) traveled to 1979, where Alice discovered that a younger Del (Julia Tomasone) had suffered a miscarriage.
During a conversation with DECIDER, which included Leigh and Laflamme-Snow, Williams expressed how exciting it was for Elliot to have a “mission” this season focused on finding his mother. He hinted that the storyline is thrilling, describing it as “being a dog on a bone.”
“We hope it’s going to be eye-opening for the audience,” Williams continued. “We’ve observed these characters evolve and seen the hidden layers beneath their surfaces. Elliot has always been somewhat mysterious… there’s a corner of his pain we haven’t explored yet. It’s gratifying to bring it to light and initiate healing, a strength of the show.”

The official date for The Way Home Season 4’s release on Netflix has not yet been confirmed, though according to The Hollywood Reporter, Season 4 should hit Netflix in late 2026.
