Tanner Courtad really did explore the possibility of becoming Julianne Hough’s dance partner.
Almost two years after the two were seen together on a date in Los Angeles, the Bachelor in Paradise alum revealed that he and the Dancing With the Stars co-host briefly explored a romantic connection.
The connection between Courtad, 33, and Hough, 38, began when he attended the show to cheer on a fellow Bachelor Nation star—and DWTS season 33 champion—Joey Graziadei.
“I was going to Dancing With the Stars to support Joey, and I was sitting in the front row,” Courtad said during the Nov. 3 episode of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. “Ezra [Sosa] came over to me, and he goes, ‘Hey, our host thinks you’re cute. Can I give you her number?’”
The fitness trainer was quick to say yes, but first wanted to find out whether the offer was genuine.
“I look back at [fellow Bachelorette alum] Justin Glaze. I’m like, ‘Did you hear that? Is this a prank?’” he recalled. “I thought Justin was in on it or something.”
