Ariana Grande and Nicole Kidman shared a sweet red carpet moment at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards on Saturday.

Stars galore were given prizes at the event, including Angelina Jolie, Adrien Brody, Timothee Chalamet, Ralph Fiennes and Kieran Culkin. 

Fresh off the thunderous success of her new movie Wicked: Part One in theaters, Ariana was honored that night with the Rising Star Award. 

Meanwhile Nicole was feted that night with the festival’s International Star Award for her performance in the new erotic thriller Babygirl, about a married CEO who embarks on an affair where she acts as the submissive partner to a dominant lover. 

During the red carpet portion, Ariana, 31, paid her respects to Nicole, 57, by sinking to a curtsey and kissing the older actress’ hand.

They also posed standing side by sidethat evening, radiating their megawatt showbiz glamour as the shutterbugs snapped away at them.

Ariana swept her hair into a tight updo and modeled a poufy white dress that would not have been out of place on her Wicked character Galinda. 

She could be seen mingling on the red carpet with the movie’s director Jon M. Chu, who opted for a black suit and shirt with wine-colored shoes. 

Nicole meanwhile brought a touch of oceanic flair to the proceedings, modeling a structured top with a gleaming blue and silver fish scale motif.

In keeping with the theme of the outfit, she slipped into a deep blue gown that glinted under the lights and featured a flowing train.

Ariana was presented with her award by Jennifer Coolidge, whom she uncannily impersonated while hosting Saturday Night Live in October.

Onstage, Ariana hailed Jennifer as ‘comedic genius whose brilliance has inspired my entire life’ and proceeded to demonstrate her own sense of humor.

‘You don’t know how much it means to me. I’ve been performing since I was a child, so I never thought at the age of 31 I would be hearing the words “rising star” again, so I wanted to start by thanking my two friends: Botox and Juvederm,’ she vamped.

Jamie Lee Curtis presented Nicole with her award, which the Babygirl star dedicated to the memory of her late mother Janelle, who died in September.

Nicole was slated to accept an award at the Venice Film Festival that month but was unable to appear in person owing to her mother’s death, which she heartbreakingly announced in a message read onstage in by Babygirl director Halina Reijn.

While receiving her trophy this Friday in Palm Springs, Nicole thanked Halina and noted that she was ‘still grieving’ the loss of her mother. 

‘Thank you for giving me the chance to say: “This is for my mom,”‘ she said, prompting a round of applause, according to People.

‘My whole career has been for my mom and my dad, who are not here now. I’m still going to keep working and giving to the world because I love what I do and I love you all, and I’m so grateful for the privilege to be a part of the film community.’

In tears, Nicole added: ‘I’m sorry that I’m crying, I didn’t want to do that. But I feel my mom right now so this is for you.’
