Not Quite Perfect Together: November 2024
Just a month after he expressed support for Ariana Grande during her October 2024 stint as host of Saturday Night Live, Ethan Slater publicly addressed their much-discussed relationship for the first time.
“This past year has been incredible, and falling in love with Ariana while working on Wicked was truly a beautiful experience,” Slater shared in a candid October 2024 interview with GQ. “I’m beyond thrilled and immensely proud of Ari for her dedication and the incredible work she’s put into this project.”
Despite the joy, Slater acknowledged the challenges of being under public scrutiny, as he eagerly awaited a shift in public perception.
“It’s tough when aspects of your private life become fodder for public discussion,” he noted. “There were significant personal changes happening, and it’s challenging to watch people, who have no real insight into the situation, voice their opinions on it.”
But he was able to block out the noise somewhat. As he added of Grande’s song “Imperfect For You,” which is rumored to be about him, “I love that song.”
