Bam Margera has officially shut down any possibility of reuniting with his Jackass co-stars after he was released from Jackass Forever due to his substance addiction.
Margera was reportedly not invited back onto the film after he allegedly tested positive for Adderall. The former skateboarder launched a wrongful termination lawsuit against Paramount, Johnny Knoxville, and Jackass co-creator Jeff Tremaine, alleging “psychological torture in the form of a sham Wellness Agreement.” The 2022 feature also starred new cast members like Eric Manaka and Rachel Wolfson.
Now, speaking to CinemaBlend, Margera maintains that bridge has been burned.
“They have like new dudes, and what they did to me, making me go to treatment and paying for it, and then not putting me in a movie, and, you know, I had to go to court over it and I just, you couldn’t offer me enough money to want to do another Jackass with them,” he said. “The damage has been done.”
Both Knoxville and Steve-O have maintained that they haven’t spoken to Margera since falling out after Jackass Forever. But his former co-stars wished him well as he continued his path to recovery.
“It boils down to: I love Bam. I know that a lot has happened. I just want him to get well for himself and his family. I love the guy, and I want him to get well and stay well,” Knoxville said in 2022.
Margera also told CinemaBlend that there was no hope of reviving his MTV spinoff series Viva la Bam, in which he pranked and terrorized his family.
“I just feel like that type of show has completely run its course. Living with my parents, and painting the whole kitchen blue, and having my mom freak out – to end something like that, and then your life moves on, you get your own house, with your own wife and you have a kid,” he said.
“If we did a Viva la Bam [reboot], I would have to move back in with my parents and re-mess with ’em after giving them a 15-year break. It would just be weird,” he added.
Margera was placed on six months of probation in 2024 in connection to a 2023 assault against his brother, where Margera allegedly threatened to kill “everyone in the house,” including their parents April and Phil Margera.
After his run-in with the law, Margera said, “With the path I was on with alcohol and drugs, I needed to hit some rock bottom to turn things around. Now, I am on the right path.”
Jackass Forever is streaming now on Paramount+.
