Barcelona have received a mixed injury update ahead of their crucial Champions League semi-final second leg against Inter Milan, with Robert Lewandowski cleared to play but left-back Alejandro Balde ruled out.

The tie remains finely poised at 3-3 after the first leg, but Barça will travel to Milan without their starting left-back.

Balde, sidelined with a hamstring issue for over three weeks, has not recovered in time and is now targeting a return for this weekend’s El Clasico against Real Madrid.

Lewandowski, however, is back in the squad after missing four matches due to a knee tendon issue.

The 36-year-old remains the club’s top scorer with 40 goals this season and will provide a much-needed attacking option, although Ferran Torres is expected to retain his place in the starting XI, with the Polish striker likely to feature from the bench.

Hansi Flick’s squad also includes academy talents Landry Farre and Noah Darvich, as the German tactician weighs his options for the left-back role.

Gerard Martin and Inigo Martinez are the frontrunners to replace Balde.
