Mix FM 92.7 radio star Annabelle Brett has taken to social media to share a family tragedy.
The breakfast show announcer, 36, who is known as A.B., had not made public her pregnancy until now, announced that she has suffered a miscarriage at around three months. Â
‘Was very excited to share with the world that we’re expecting another little one next May,’ she began her emotional post on Instagram.
‘But unfortunately, the universe had other ideas. Miscarriage impacts 25 per cent of pregnancies, but I highly doubt that number of us talk about it.’
Annabelle, who got engaged to husband Alex Tait in 2020, also revealed that this was her second miscarriage.
She continued: ‘I thought it would be easier earlier or the second time around, but it’s still such a heartbreaking time.Â

‘My heart goes out to anybody else who’s been through it or will, and encourage them to talk about it too. It helps knowing you’re not alone in this pain.’
She also included a moving photo of her husband clutching her hand in the post.Â
Annabelle welcomed her first child, Dolly, last year.
In 2021, she made headlines when she shared details of her husband’s quirky marriage proposal.
Jokingly describing the milestone moment as ‘sh**tty’, Annabelle said that Alex’s plan involved a doggy poo bag.
Telling Metro the story after, the Sunshine Coast presenter said the couple were walking their dog Teddy when he popped the question.
As their pooch did his business Annabelle reached into a stash of plastic bags to clean up the dog’s leavings – when she discovered a surprise.
Hidden in the bag meant for her doggie’s poo was an engagement ring.

‘It was funny because that particular day I didn’t feel like going [on the walk], I was being lazy. But he was so insistent and persuaded me to join him,’ she said at the time.
She continued: ‘I couldn’t believe it and was very surprised. I said yes straight away of course, but couldn’t even see the ring at that point because it was getting so dark outside.
‘I never expected to be proposed to in this way but I absolutely loved it. I hate anything too cheesy and romantic.
‘It was perfect and definitely will make a good story to tell for years to come.’
The proposal came after two years of dating Alex, who is a primary school teacher.
Beginning her career in Queensland at 4ZZZ, in 2015, the NSW-born Annabelle landed a job as newsreader for the SCA network on the Gold Coast.Â
She later worked in regional radio in her home state, including a stint at Hit 105.5 in Coffs Harbour.
Before her current role she was in Triple M’s QLD Rush Hour slot with Elliott Lovejoy.
She now hosts the prized brekkie slot with Mark Darin on 92.7 Mix FM Breakfast.
