“I have some personal ‘pop’ news to share today. The Sunrise family is expanding,” she announced with enthusiasm.

After delivering the entertainment news on Saturday morning, Teegan, 28, had her very own scoop to share.

‘And some very personal “pop” news this morning. The Sunrise family is growing,’ she began.

‘My fiancé Jamie and I are expecting our first baby in April,’ she added. The news was met with excitement from hosts Natarsha Belling and Hugh Whitfeld. 

Teegan added that while it was still early in her pregnancy, she was already being changed by the prospect of welcoming a newborn.

‘Motherhood’s already changing me,’ she said. ‘Not being able to have coffee. I’ve been wanting mandarins a lot.’

Teegan said she was over the moon to be able to share the joyous news with the Sunrise audience.

‘We’re so excited to be able to bring Sunrise along on this journey with us,’ Teegan said.

‘We would love parenting advice, we would love the favourite brands – the prams, the nursery items – and even names.’

Teegan added she and Jamie had not settled on a name, as they want the gender to be a surprise.  

‘What I’ve found is this whole new level of self-control because we’re actually not finding out the baby’s gender,’ she said. 

‘So, that’s going to be a nice surprise for us come ANZAC Day.’

Teegan also took to Instagram on Saturday to break the news to her followers.

She shared one photo that showed her flaunting her baby bump in a Calvin Klein sports bra she wore under a denim jacket.

Teegan and Jamie announced their engagement on air in April 2024, before sharing images of the romantic moment on Instagram. 

After seven years of dating, Jamie proposed while the couple were on a hike, with a stunning mountain view as the backdrop to their happy moment.
