In a recent twist on the popular Bravo series Below Deck Mediterranean, the spotlight has turned to Kizzi Kitchener, the newest crew member contemplating a potential romantic entanglement with a guest. This development follows closely on the heels of a recent investigation into fellow crew member Kyle Stillie’s conduct.
On the December 8 episode, Kizzi found herself charmed by guest David even before he set foot on the yacht, Bravado. Their initial meeting quickly blossomed into a flirtatious interaction, and it was clear that sparks were flying. Both Kizzi and David confirmed their single status, and David didn’t waste time securing Kizzi’s phone number, leading to playful exchanges about a possible rendezvous on the boat.
Although Kizzi’s lighthearted banter didn’t raise major concerns for chief stew Aesha Scott, the episode ended with a tantalizing hint of a budding romance. With the rest of the crew occupied, Kizzi and David seized the moment to further explore their chemistry.
Fans are left in suspense, wondering whether the flirtation between Kizzi and David will lead to something more substantial. However, it’s important to note that the show’s strict policy prohibits any romantic involvement between crew and guests during charters. This rule was notably highlighted in season 12, centering around Kyle Stillie’s controversial actions.
The deckhand surprised his coworkers after a rumor he spread about hooking up with charter guest Helen Hoey. Kyle walked it back once word got back to Captain Kerry, but the damage was already done. The rest of the season, crew and fans alike questioned what exactly happened between Kyle and Helen. On screen, meanwhile, Kerry investigated Kyle, but he was cleared.
“Since filming, I’ve changed. I’ve changed things. I’ll never say I’ll stop drinking but I’m aware that the habits that I have and the way that I used alcohol. I’m just far more aware,” Kyle exclusively told Us Weekly in September about watching his behavior back. “I don’t think I’ve ever [had] a problem. I would hate to get to 40 years old and somebody sits me down and goes, ‘Mate pull your neck in.’ So it’s just kind of giving me that point of reference where I’m not a f***ing idiot. So it’s just given me that foresight to be like, ‘You’re never going to get to that place.’”
Kizzi, meanwhile, recently spoke to Us about whether she had any regrets since filming season 10, quipping in October, “Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut in the moment, [But also] no because I would have been drunk. One thing about me is I’m a massive lightweight as well so I’m an oversharer for sure.”
Kizzi recalled how she didn’t give it much thought when she was being filmed.
“In the moment, you literally forget there’s a camera crew, especially when you’ve had a drink and these people are your friends,” she noted. “If there weren’t cameras, I can’t even imagine what other people say.”
She continued: “The fact is, I chose to put myself in a position to share this information with the world. But I don’t know if I would change it because it’s true and it’s honest. I hope it’s funny and entertaining. When I’m drunk, I am an entertainer. So I will add layers to stories and definitely make them bigger and make them more exciting and fun.”
Kizz pointed out that the crew is “filmed 24 hours a day and viewers see 45 minutes,” adding, “So there’s a lot that happens that you wouldn’t know.” She specifically mentioned making candid admissions, including her accidentally sleeping with a cult member and a comment about STDs.
“I definitely could tone it down in places but I also want to be myself and be real. These things do happen in real life and it doesn’t make you a bad person,” she explained. “The STD thing has obviously been a big topic of conversation but there’s no context to it. It’s not that I was sleeping around — and there’s no problem with that — if it was from one person. But then I’m getting a lot of comments about being a slut because of this. There’s no context behind it that people know. Watching it back, I regret sharing so much with people that aren’t thinking about the context.”
Below Deck Med airs on Bravo Mondays at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
