Below Deck Mediterranean star Gael Cameron humorously expressed her reservations about Nathan Gallagher‘s parenting skills before the two rekindled their relationship and welcomed their son.
In the December 29 episode of the popular Bravo show, Gael was collaborating with Nathan on deck. As Nathan assisted her with packing up lines, Gael quipped, “Carry it like a baby. I’d be really worried about you with my babies.”
Fans of Below Deck are aware that since the filming of season 10, Gael and Nathan have become parents. The duo initially met in the previous season, where their relationship started on shaky ground, complicated by Gael’s breakup with an off-screen partner.
The chemistry between Nathan and Gael was evident, leading to an almost off-camera hookup, which was halted by production.
“[The cameras] weren’t on my mind,” Nathan exclusively told Us Weekly in July 2024. “I was 10 tequilas deep. I didn’t even know what a camera was exactly.”
Nathan added that he had “no game plan” when it came to his attraction to Gael, who was not single at the time. As season 9 came to an end, Nathan and Gael appeared to be going strong.

“With Gael, it just happened insanely fast. We connected and we grew a very, very strong bond. As time went on, we were just going with the flow,” Nathan explained to Us at the time. “I was going with the flow. I didn’t want to put too much pressure on her. I didn’t want to set us up to hook up in certain areas or certain times. It was more of what was happening in the moment.”
Their romance ultimately fizzled out after production wrapped. Gael and Nathan later reconciled — and announced a surprise pregnancy. Their son was born in June, and the couple have stayed together while celebrating the major milestone.
While Nathan and Gael have found love off screen, their brief split was documented on season 10 of Below Deck Med. Their costar Aesha Scott previously defended the timeline for viewers who thought Nathan was cheating on Gael this season.
“He does do a very good job of keeping anything that he’s dealing with internally in his personal life,” she told Us in September. “You can’t really tell until he shares later on. Obviously, they had a rocky start. They had so much healing to do within themselves before they could fully commit to being with someone else. But they did the work. They came together and now they’re in such a good place. It’s really so beautiful seeing them together.”
Joe Bradley, meanwhile, praised Nathan and Gael’s bond.
“At this point in time — like when I just came back [on the show] — Nathan really did have strong feelings toward Gael. I just find it’s a blessing that they rekindled that relationship because it’s pure love what they’ve got,” he shared with Us. “We could only wish as a species to find that level of love. It’s just a blessing and the fact that they’ve got a baby, what a gift. I could not be more happy.”
Below Deck Med airs on Bravo Mondays at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
