Blake Lively Shares the Amusing April Fool’s Day Prank Crafted by Her Kids
What would Blake Lively do without her children?
For starters, the former Gossip Girl star admitted she might never have taken on the role of narrator for National Geographic’s Secrets of the Penguins if not for her and husband Ryan Reynolds’ children: James, 11, Inez, 9, Betty, 6, and Olin, 3.
“I narrated this for my kids,” Blake revealed in an Instagram Story on April 8, celebrating the miniseries’ three Emmy Award nominations for News and Documentary in 2026. “Both in how I told the story. And why.”
The 38-year-old actress confessed that the project “arrived at a time when my heart needed it most.”
“My kids love to fall asleep to nature shows,” she continued. “Nothing more comforting and divine than these sweet babies. This series holds such a special place in my heart, and my home.”
The Simple Favor actress also gave a shoutout to the team behind Secrets of the Penguins, which is up for Outstanding Nature Documentary, Outstanding Cinematography: Documentary and Outstanding Sound: Documentary.
