Blake Lively has reportedly just stuck a fork in her relationship with Taylor Swift.
By now, just about everyone on planet Earth has heard that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are engaged.
On Aug. 26, the couple shared their happy news on Instagram with a few snaps of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end‘s proposal to the “Karma” singer with the caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” along with a dynamite emoji. Within an hour, the post racked up over 10 million likes and more than tripled that number in the first 24 hours it was up.
Although the Instagram comments are turned off, the pair did receive congratulatory messages via X.com and IG reposts from fellow celebrities, Kelce’s teammates, and the NFL. The two undoubtedly heard from other friends and loved ones too after sharing their news, but someone who Swift hasn’t heard from is her former bestie, Blake Lively.
Swift and the Gossip Girl alum had been close for several years, and Lively, along with husband Ryan Reynolds, even appeared at several Chiefs games with Swift to support Kelce. But for months now, there has appeared to be some bad blood between the two.
Some fans attribute that to all the drama Lively has been embroiled in due to her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni, and being connected to that kind of press is something Swift wants no part of.
An insider who spoke to the Daily Mail said: “Blake didn’t reach out [following the engagement announcement] and isn’t going to. This isn’t the time. What would be the point of reaching out now? It really makes no sense. [Lively] has bigger fish to fry.”
The source added, “There’s no ‘will she or won’t she’ about Blake being in the wedding, because she just won’t. She knows that, and I don’t think she particularly wants to talk about that.”
