Blake Shelton compared his romance with Gwen Stefani to the one between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. While both relationships feature a blonde woman with a taller, brunette partner, Shelton was referring to the way both couples have conducted themselves in public. He thinks this is a sign that Swift and Kelce’s relationship will last.

Like most people, Shelton is well aware of the romance between Swift and Kelce. He said he respects that Kelce doesn’t shrink into the shadow cast by Swift’s fame.

“He’s a standout no matter where he is or what he’s doing. He’s just got this big personality. He’s a funny guy,” Shelton said on The Pat McAfee Show (per People). “He walks into the room, and he has a presence there, so there’s never going to be that moment where he’s in the shadows anyway just because of his charisma and his personality anyway.”

He thinks Kelce has a great personality and admires the way he has settled into the relationship.

“He just kind of owns the moment, whatever that is, whether it’s that picture you just had up there at one of her shows, you know? He’s just willing to go there,” he said. “I love his personality. He’s a ton of fun — his brother too. I’m a fan of both of theirs.”

Shelton said he thinks Swift and Kelce’s relationship will go the distance, at least partly because it reminds him of his marriage to Gwen Stefani. He thinks it’s important that Swift and Kelce aren’t trying to hide their romance.

“There’s no sneaking around, or trying to tamp things down or keep it on the down low,” he said. “I think when you’re willing to just come out and just kind of put it in everybody’s face that you’re together and you’re owning it — that’s what Gwen and I did.”
