Amar Latif, a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef who is blind, has captured the hearts of viewers, earning praise as the “best thing that’s ever happened to the show” due to his positive attitude.
The upbeat Scottish presenter, aged 45, left audiences amazed with his culinary skills during the latest episode. He expertly chopped vegetables with a sharp knife and successfully carried a large bowl of curry to the serving station, impressing everyone watching.
Latif has also formed a heartwarming friendship with fellow contestant Gethin Jones, who assists him in navigating the kitchen. Their camaraderie has charmed viewers, who are delighted by their budding “bromance.”
In Thursday night’s episode, Latif, an entrepreneur and motivational speaker, embraced the show’s challenges with his philosophy of “say yes to everything.” As Celebrity MasterChef’s first blind contestant, he expressed to producers his desire for equal challenges, questioning the purpose of altering the expectations.

The first Challenge saw Amar team up with Gethin to cook their version of judge John Torode’s apple charlotte with ginger butter and custard.Â
The duo had to try and cook an identical-looking dish purely by communicating about what they were doing through a wall dividing their kitchen space.Â
John Torode and fellow judge Gregg Wallace were impressed with Latif’s efforts, telling him: ‘Your custard is fantastic, it’s sweet and creamy and packed with vanilla.’Â
Later Amar joked: ‘I hope I don’t spill this!’ as he prepared to serve his mum’s recipe curry to 100 engineers at the Wellcome Genome Campus in Cambridgeshire.Â
On social media, Latif’s positive approach to life garnered huge praise from viewers.  Â

In a recent interview with the Mail on Sunday, the 45-year-old explained how he has refused to let his blindness stop him doing any number of terrifying things.
He has skied down black runs in the Alps, single-handedly sailed a yacht across the Ionian Sea and dodged crocodiles, snakes and sharks on a hair-raising journey across Nicaragua.
Many viewers watching at home said Amar’s smiley approach to life was impressive
He’s also set up his own successful international travel company. ‘My motto is basically to say yes to everything,’ he told the newspaper.Â
‘I didn’t want to do a challenge where the goalposts were different, because what would be the point in that?
‘As a blind person, I find a lot of people constantly tell you that you can’t do things — I hope that this shows that, with a bit of single-mindedness and some creativity, anything is possible.’
