Alex Duong is being fondly remembered following his unexpected passing.

The comedian, known for his roles in Blue Bloods, The Young and the Restless, and Everybody Hates Chris, passed away on March 28 after a courageous yearlong battle with a rare cancer, as confirmed by his friend Hilarie Steele on GoFundMe. He was 42 years old.

“With the heaviest of hearts, we announce that our beloved Alex passed peacefully this morning, enveloped by love and dear friends,” Steele wrote in her statement on the crowdfunding site. “He was comfortable and mercifully free from pain.”

Steele noted that despite the advancement of Duong’s illness, he had the chance to say farewell to his 5-year-old daughter, Everest, whom he shared with his wife Christina. She emphasized that he cherished every moment with his little girl since her birth.

“We are heartbroken,” the message continued, “but deeply thankful for the support, prayers, and kindness everyone has shown during this unimaginable time.”
