Blue Ivy Carter is ringing in her 13th birthday with a major accomplishment: a nomination for the 56th annual NAACP Image Awards. The young star joins her mom, Beyoncé, on the list of honorees for the 56th annual ceremony.

Announced on Tuesday, the NAACP Image Awards recognize achievements in music, film, television, and beyond. Beyoncé garnered three nominations for her chart-topping eighth album, Cowboy Carter, including Outstanding Album, Outstanding Female Artist, and Outstanding Soul/R&B Song for “16 Carriages.”

For Blue Ivy, this recognition marks her second NAACP Image Award nod. Her first win came for her contributions to “Brown Skin Girl,” a track from 2019’s The Lion King: The Gift.

This year, she’s nominated for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance in a Motion Picture for her role as Kiara in Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King. In the film, Blue Ivy voiced Kiara, the daughter of Queen Nala and King Simba. Beyoncé reprised her role as Nala, and Donald Glover returned as Simba.

Blue Ivy’s nomination places her in esteemed company among other young stars like Anthony B. Jenkins (The Deliverance), Skylar Aleece Smith (The Piano Lesson), and Leah Sava Jeffries (Percy Jackson and the Olympians), to name a few.

The NAACP Awards will broadcast live on February 22 from the Pasadena Civic Center in California.
