At the tender age of 13, Blue Ivy Carter is already carving out her own niche, clearly inspired by the trail her mother, Beyoncé, has blazed. As she steps into the limelight, Blue Ivy has not only captivated audiences during the “Cowboy Carter” world tour but also secured the YoungStars Award at the 2025 BET Awards for the second time. Recently, her appearance in a light pink silk gown at a black-tie affair has drawn striking comparisons to her mother, leaving everyone doing a double-take.
Blue Ivy Carter just wore a pink silk gown to an event supporting her grandmother, Tina Knowles
Blue Ivy made a memorable entrance at the 27th Annual Angel Ball on October 27, 2025. Hosted at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, the event supports blood cancer research and attracts a blend of philanthropists and fashion icons, including Destiny’s Child alum Michelle Williams. Blue Ivy was there to support her grandmother, Tina Knowles, lending her presence to a night dedicated to a worthy cause.
Adorned in a satin baby-pink, floor-length gown with feathered sleeves, Blue Ivy turned heads, as reported by Harper’s Bazaar. Her ensemble was completed with diamond jewelry and matching pink kitten heels, while her hair was elegantly styled in a high ponytail with light-brown braids. Her glamorous appearance was a nod to her growing stage presence. Meanwhile, Tina Knowles looked equally stunning in a black gown with an asymmetrical cutout design, accessorized with black opera gloves, diamond stud earrings, and a sparkling clutch.
Although Blue Ivy sidestepped the red carpet, her arrival and the touching family moment were immortalized in an Instagram selfie with her grandmother. Beyoncé shared the heartwarming photo of her daughter and mother, captioning it with pride: “Congrats Mom on your philanthropy award at the Angel Ball tonight ❤️.”
Such elegant displays of style from Blue Ivy naturally recall her mother’s own fashion moments. Back in 2006, at the Los Angeles premiere of The Pink Panther, Beyoncé stunned in a custom gown crafted by Tina Knowles. The dress, a gold-sequined pink masterpiece with floral details, featured a plunging neckline and a fishtail hem, capturing both Hollywood allure and Beyoncé’s burgeoning solo star power. Tina’s design showcased not just her skill but also the collaborative vision she shared with her daughter, a legacy Blue Ivy seems poised to continue.

At the 2006 premiere of The Pink Panther in Los Angeles, Beyoncé dazzled in a custom-made gown designed by her mother, Tina Knowles. The shimmering, gold-sequined pink dress with flower details featured a plunging neckline, body-hugging silhouette, and a cascading fishtail hem that embodied both Hollywood glamour and Beyoncé’s growing confidence as a solo star. Tina, who had long designed stage outfits for Destiny’s Child, elevated her daughter’s red-carpet look with intricate detailing and craftsmanship that reflected their shared vision.
“There was a dress that I did for Beyoncé for The Pink Panther premiere,” Tina noted of the dress, according to a quote posted to Instagram. “It was pink, and I remember that they mistook it for a Givenchy dress. That was the biggest compliment in the world to me, because I had a lot of people give me a really hard time about designing things. Sometimes they were fair because some of that stuff was crazy, and sometimes it was very unfair, but they thought that dress was Givenchy. And yeah, that’s definitely one of my favorites.”
The gown became one of Beyoncé’s most memorable early red-carpet moments. Today, the light pink gown is reminiscent of Blue Ivy Carter’s Angel Ball moment.
Blue Ivy Carter was the star of the show while on tour with Beyoncé for the “Cowboy Carter” tour. So, is she destined for a life in music? Tina Knowles spoke to People about the possibility. And she doesn’t believe that Blue Ivy will follow her famous parents’ path.
“She can do so many things,” Tina told the publication. “She can paint, she writes poetry; anything she puts her mind to do, she’s good at. So, I don’t know what she’s going to do. … I think she would be great at music; [she] would kill it. But I don’t think that that’s her passion.”
