Bozoma Saint John has proven to be an iconic addition to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills since joining in TKTK but the star revealed during a visit to Today With Jenna & Friends that she was strongly advised against starring in the franchise.

Saint John admitted to Today‘s Jenna Bush Hager that she was “nervous” to join the cast, especially after “everybody” in her life warned her against it.

“You already know everybody was like, ‘Don’t do it! You have an amazing reputation, you’re in the Hall of Fame, [you have] this career of 25 years. Why would you go on TV and fight with women?’” she revealed.

“And I was like wait. But is that what I have to do? Because I don’t think that’s what I have to do,” she said, adding, “I didn’t do it.”

Saint John did not seem regretful at all about her decision to join the Bravo series, as she added, “I think with all of the decisions that I’ve made through the course of my career, most of which have been wildly unpopular, this was just another one.”

The reality star had nothing but good things to say about her experience on the series, telling Bush Hager that she’s still having “a great time.”

Saint John also teased that the next season of RHOBH, which does not yet have a premiere date, is going to be “big.”

“It’s a big season. Lots of action, very big cast,” she said. “Whew, there’s a lot going on.”

Saint John was visiting Today with Jimmy Fallon to promote their new marketing series On Brand, set to premiere Sept. 30 on NBC.

Fallon revealed that his wife, who is a fan of RHOBH, recommended he look into having Saint John as his co-host once he began his search. Fallon said on Today that his wife told him, “She’s overqualified, she’s in the Marketing Hall of Fame. She knows what’s up.”

“We hit it off immediately,” Fallon said of the first time he met Saint John. “She legitimizes the show and it’s so fun.”
