Bre Tiesi Says She Felt Forced to Join Nick Cannon’s Upcoming Netflix Docuseries: “Not Thrilled”

Selling Sunset star Bre Tiesi has plenty of experience in front of reality TV cameras, but appearing in partner Nick Cannon’s upcoming Netflix docuseries has been a very different experience—and not one she was eager to embrace.

Bre Tiesi gives candid opinion on Nick Cannon’s upcoming Netflix docuseries

Tiesi explained that filming Selling Sunset is far removed from inviting viewers into the intimate details of her everyday life.

“Even though I do reality TV, the show I’m on doesn’t really have anything to do with my actual life or my personal life,” she said on the latest episode of Hulu’s Get Real podcast.

“Selling Sunset is about the girls in the office and whatever drama is happening there. This is my family, my child and other people who don’t necessarily want any part of it. That makes everything very messy,” she added.

The model and real estate agent was candid about her feelings, saying, “I’m barely surviving … I’m not thrilled about it.”

Netflix has described Cannon’s still-untitled series as an “intimate look at his wildly unconventional life,” including his experiences raising 11 children and co-parenting with six different mothers. Tiesi shares a four-year-old daughter, Legendary Love, with the entertainer.

‘Selling Sunset’ star didn’t feel that she could opt out of show

During the podcast, host Amanda Hirsch asked whether Tiesi had the option to stay out of the project.

“I mean, yes, but no,” Tiesi answered. She said it would have felt strange not to participate when her relationship with Cannon was inevitably going to be discussed on camera.

“I didn’t want to let somebody else create a narrative for me, speak on my behalf or allow a story about me to take shape simply because I wasn’t there,” she said. “It felt like I was damned if I did and damned if I didn’t.”

Still, Tiesi made clear that filming has not been entirely negative. She said she is looking forward to audiences seeing a gentler, more vulnerable side of her personality.

Cannon, meanwhile, has said the Netflix series, expected to premiere this winter, will address the public’s ongoing curiosity about his unconventional family life.

“People have been fascinated by my lifestyle for a long time,” he told Us Weekly. “Rather than let people make things up, I’m going to show you everything.”

In addition to his child with Tiesi, Cannon shares twins with ex-wife Mariah Carey, three children with Brittany Bell, three with Abby De La Rosa and a daughter with LaNisha Cole. He also has a daughter with Alyssa Scott. Cannon and Scott previously welcomed a son who died at five months old in 2021.

The Masked Singer host has acknowledged that not every mother of his children was comfortable allowing cameras into their homes.

“They were asking, ‘Why are we letting cameras into our homes?’” Cannon recalled. “I think everyone is very comfortable protecting their peace. But they all said they would do it for me, and I’m grateful for that.”
