The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has partnered with renowned sportswear company PUMA to unveil a distinctive match ball for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final, infusing a golden theme into the much-anticipated showdown set for Sunday in Morocco.
This exclusive ball will take center stage as the host nation, Morocco, battles Senegal in the final at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdellah, where a new African champion will emerge. The match is slated to begin at 20:00 local time.
Gold-accented ITRI ball to debut in Morocco vs Senegal final
In an official announcement on Friday, CAF revealed the introduction of this limited-edition ball, crafted to honor the two finalists and celebrate the tournament’s grand finale.
“The ITRI ball, utilized throughout the competition, showcases a captivating design influenced by traditional Moroccan zellij geometric motifs, featuring central star geometry, floral petal outlines, and circular symmetry,” the statement elaborated.
“Engineered with PUMA’s cutting-edge Orbita 6 technology, the ball merges tradition with modernity, adhering to the high-performance standards necessary for top-tier competition while paying homage to African culture,” the statement continued.
CAF says design blends African heritage with elite performance technology
The gold-accented version retains the core design of the standard ITRI ball, which has been in use since the start of the competition, but introduces additional visual elements to reflect the prestige of the final.
Sunday’s match will bring the tournament to a close after weeks of intense competition, record-breaking goals and dramatic knockout fixtures.
CAF and PUMA had earlier unveiled the ITRI ball ahead of the tournament, describing it as a symbol of African creativity and modern football technology.
With Morocco chasing a historic title on home soil and Senegal seeking to add another continental crown to their collection, the final is expected to draw massive attention across the continent and beyond.
