Even if you’re not a WNBA fan, chances are you’ve heard of Caitlin Clark. The Iowa Hawkeyes alum is regarded as one of the greatest female college basketball players of all time and has become a superstar since turning pro and signing with the Indiana Fever. Due to her popularity, Clark has been credited with helping grow interest in the WNBA. During her first season in 2024, the league smashed viewership records every time the Fever played.
Many fans are also familiar with Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, as she hasn’t been shy when it comes to sharing posts about her beau via social media.

McCaffery’s age and net worth
Connor McCaffery was born on July 13, 1998, in Iowa City to parents Margaret and Fran McCaffery.
His father is a college basketball coach. He is currently the head coach at the University of Pennsylvania and previously coached Lehigh University, UNC Greensboro, Siena, and the University of Iowa. He took all four programs to the NCAA tournament at least once and is the Hawkeyes all-time winningest coach.
Connor has followed in his father’s footsteps. He played for the Hawkeyes and after graduation, got into coaching himself. He served as the Basketball Development Coordinator for the Indiana Pacers during the 2023-24 season. That coaching role involved running the scout team, assisting with video operations and the scouting reports, and working out with the active roster. The Pacers advanced to the NBA Eastern Conference Finals in 2024 after missing the playoffs the season before.
In September 2024, Connor accepted a job as an assistant coach at Butler University. During his first season with the Bulldogs, McCaffery helped Butler to a postseason berth as the team made the field for the inaugural College Basketball Crown in 2025. Connor’s younger brother, Jack, currently plays for the Bulldogs.
“Following a high-level playing career, Connor has had the opportunity to both contribute and learn alongside one of the best staffs in the NBA,” Butler head coach Thad Matta said. “Those experiences will be very valuable to our staff. He obviously comes from a basketball family that I know very well, and I’m excited for the impact he is going to have on our program both quickly and in the long run.”
