Cardi B recently took to Instagram Live to address some confusion regarding the name of her newborn. During the live session, a fan inquired, “How is baby Liem?” prompting an immediate response from the rapper.
Cardi swiftly clarified that her son’s name is not Liem. She pointed out that Liem is actually the name of a fashion brand owned by NFL player Stefon Diggs, launched in 2022.
“Someone mentioned, ‘How is baby Liem?’ That’s not his name. Liem is the brand my man owns,” Cardi said, laughing as she cleared up the misunderstanding. “My man’s got three jobs, you know,” she added with a smile.
She reiterated, “That’s his clothing brand, not my son’s name,” putting an end to the rumors.
Diggs’ brand, Liem, stands for “live in every moment” and was created to promote the idea of individuality.
While Cardi didn’t reveal her baby boy’s real name, she did promise fans they’ll hear it eventually. “One day, I’ll tell y’all my son’s name. It’s so cute. I love his name,” she teased, giving viewers just enough to stay curious.
This isn’t the first time Cardi has kept one of her children’s names under wraps. When she welcomed her daughter Blossom in September 2024, fans didn’t learn the baby’s name for months. Blossom stayed off Instagram until June, when Cardi finally introduced her with the caption, “It is you, Miss Blossom Belles.”
Cardi and Stefon Diggs welcomed their first child together on Nov. 4. Shortly after, the rapper shared what the moment meant to her, writing that starting over hasn’t been easy but has been “so worth it.”
““I brought new music and a new album to the world! A new baby into my world, and one more reason to be the best version of me, one more reason to love me more than anything else or anyone else, so I can continue giving my babies the love and life they deserve,” the singer wrote on Instagram shortly after welcoming her fourth child.
