Cardi B and Offset’s relationship has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, marked by passionate reunions and public separations. In July 2024, Cardi filed for divorce after seven years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. However, Offset’s demands allegedly delayed the divorce proceedings. He reportedly requested one of Cardi’s homes and assistance with his tax obligations. Cardi has expressed frustration over these demands, stating that Offset is “holding her hostage” and delaying the divorce process.
“Let me tell you something, I did things the correct way the first time,” Cardi said in an X Spaces chat on Sept. 22, 2025, according to Us Weekly. “I fell in love. I got two rings on my finger; I lasted seven years.” She then clarified that she and Offset remain”legally separated” while they continue to work through their divorce.
“The only reason why I’m still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes,” she continued. “Y’all wanna know the tea? The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes, even though I pay for my own, and give them one of my properties. I’m fighting for that. I’m gonna fight for that. This is not no love s***.”
Despite the ongoing legal battle, Cardi has moved forward in her personal life. She is currently expecting her fourth child and first with NFL star Stefon Diggs, with whom she confirmed her relationship in June 2025. Cardi has addressed rumors surrounding Diggs’ paternity situation, expressing confidence and a sense of humor about the circumstances.
