There will be some new faces joining the cast of Virgin River in season 7, and another star who will not be featured as much.

Netflix announced that Sara Canning and Cody Kearsley would be joining the cast for season 7.

According to Tudum, Sara, 37, will be playing “ex-cop Victoria, who was shot in the line of duty and now works for the state medical board as an investigator. Victoria comes to Virgin River to look into Doc’s practice but runs into a friend she wouldn’t mind catching up with … or maybe even pursuing something more.”

The outlet also reported that Cody, 34, “will play the tough, athletic Clay. The kind of guy who gets noticed when he enters a room, Clay has experience working the rodeo circuit. He grew up in foster care with his younger sister, whom he hasn’t seen since he was a teenager. He’s been looking for her ever since.”

Additionally, there was a major casting shakeup as it was announced that Mark Ghanime, who plays Cameron, will no longer be a series regular on Virgin River.

“I love Mark, who plays Cameron, and I love the character of Cameron,” showrunner Patrick Sean Smith told TVLine in an interview in December 2024. “He will always be a part of the world, and I would love to see his character back, but he won’t be a series regular in season 7, unfortunately.”

But, Patrick did not rule out the possibility of seeing Cameron again in the future, despite the casting news.

“I would love and can definitely imagine several opportunities of how we could bring Cameron back into our world,” he said.

The show’s renewal was first announced in October 2024 on the show’s official Instagram account. The post featured a video of the cast members all revealing the news of season 7.

“Good news, Virgin River is confirmed to come back for Season 7! More love, drama, and small-town charm coming your way. You’re very welcome,” the caption of the post said.

Just recently, Martin Henderson, who plays Jack Sheridan on Virgin River, revealed that the cast was back at work filming season 7.

“It is day one of season 7 of Virgin River and I am here in my trailer, I’m about to go to work and I saw this lovely little gift from my friends at Netflix,” he said in an Instagram video on March 13. “A little box of treats and I thought I’d share it with you guys just to let you know how much they care. Because look, rechargeable handwarmers.”

“I can’t tell you — I hate the cold,” he added. “If anybody knows anything about me, I hate the cold. And it gets a little chilly in Vancouver at this time of year.”

“But these are going to keep my little mittens warm while I’m standing around on set!” he continued.

An official premiere date for season 7 of Virgin River has yet to be announced but fans can catch up on the show’s first six seasons on Netflix in the meantime.
