Popular Nigerian chef and food blogger, Tolani Osikoya, widely known as Chef T, has recounted a traumatic robbery incident she and her family went through.

Chef T, also known as Diaryofakitchenlover, in an Instagram post on Wednesday, recounted how her parents risked their lives to save them.

Narrating the painful ordeal, Chef T stated that she and her siblings, had been working on their mathematics assignment with their dad when about 9 armed robbers walked in demanding for money.

The robbers went ahead to beat her dad after it became evident that they would not get any money from him.

She disclosed that the robbers took her mum, ordering her to give them her jewelries.

Her dad however, jumped through the window and almost broke his back while going to look for help.

Chef T also disclosed that one of the robbers hit her mother on the head with a cutlass before they ran.

While sharing beautiful pictures of her family, she expressed her gratitude to God for keeping them and not allowing the incident to become worse.

She described her parents as the heroes of the lives of her and her siblings.

Chef T, who disclosed that the incident has haunted her since it happened on 2003, expressed hope that she will begin to heal from its trauma now that she has shared it.

She stated, “The year was 2003, these are our heroes. Dad jumped to distract them and save us, knowing they were not going to shoot.

“Mum locked the door in a pool of her own blood. Grateful that we are complete today. This traumatizing experience has never left me.

She is a certified chef from the Italian Chef Academy, and has taught over 500 students online and offline.

She has also partnered with over 100 brands, and has been recognized as one of the top 50 most impactful women in Africa.
