Chrissy Teigen has come to the defense of Selena Gomez after the White House blasted the star over her sobbing video about the deportations of undocumented migrants.

Gomez, 32, has notably garnered backlash after she uploaded a since-deleted clip of herself on Instagram as she broke down crying over Trump’s deportation policy.

In response, the White House shared a video as mothers whose children were raped or murdered by illegal migrants slammed the actress over her weeping clip.

Teigen, 39, has since taken to her Instagram stories to repost a People article about the White House’s response and offered her own thoughts.

‘Having empathy is now something gross and weird. we love you @selenagomez and boy does the White House have a lot of time on their hands for the dumbest s**t ever.’

‘You want cheaper eggs? Too bad! Too many people to roast online. Maybe later,’ the TV personality concluded.

This week, the Emilia Perez actress shared a reel to her Instagram stories on Monday and broke down in tears while discussing Trump’s deportation policy.

In the video which has been taken down, the star emotionally said: ‘All my people are getting attacked, the children.’

‘I don’t understand. I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.’

Towards the bottom, she added the caption which simply read, ‘I’m sorry,’ followed by the Mexican flag.

Not long after deleting the clip, Gomez uploaded a separate post to her Instagram stories and wrote: ‘Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people.’

In the White House’s video, grieving mothers who lost their own children at the hands of illegal migrants responded to the Hollywood star’s tearful reel.

Tammy Nobles – whose daughter Kayla Hamilton was murdered in July 2022 by a gang member – expressed to the actress: ‘You don’t know who you’re crying for.’

‘What about our children who were brutally murdered and raped and beat to death and left on the floor by these illegal immigrants?’

Alexis Nungaray’s 12-year-old daughter, Jocelyn, was murdered last year in June 2024 and she said, ‘It’s hard to believe that it’s actually genuine and real because she’s an actress.’

‘My daughter was a child. There’s many other children whose lives were taken due to people who cross here illegally.’

‘It’s only been two weeks since he’s been in office and he’s taking accountability, making moves and making things happen. I truly appreciate everything Donald Trump has done,’ Nungaray added.

‘I just feel like it’s a ruse to deceive people and to garner sympathy for lawlessness,’ Patti Morin added, whose daughter Rachel died in August 2023.

‘No one has stood up except for us mothers to cry out about our children. President Trump genuinely cares for the American people and he cares for the American family. We stand with Donald Trump and making America safer again.’

Nobles also stated, ‘What about our children who were brutally murdered and raped, and beat to death and left on the floor by these illegal immigrants? They didn’t cry for our daughters.’

The caption of the post read: ‘Kayla Hamilton, Jocelyn Nungaray, and Rachel Morin were murdered by illegal aliens.’

‘Their courageous mothers had something to say to @SelenaGomez and those who oppose securing our borders. WATCH!’
