Ciara is giving back to the city that raised her in a big way! The 39-year-old, opened up a new dance studio in Atlanta on “Ciara Day.” 

On the one-year anniversary of “Ciara Day,” a date officially declared by Atlanta in 2023, the Grammy-winning artist returned to her home town to celebrate with purpose. She opened a brand-new dance studio for local youth inside the John H. Harland Boys & Girls Club in the city’s West End.

The talented entertainer took to Instagram to share the news. 

“What an incredible moment launching our Why Not You Center/Dance Hall in partnership with our @WhyNotYouFDN and the @bgcmatl!” she began her caption of the Instagram video.

“Thank you to the State and City for officially declaring July 28th, CIARA DAY. It’s my mission to continually make this a day of impact! Every child deserves a space to dream, create, and be seen. And this is just the beginning. @DangeRussWilson we’re doing it! Atlanta, THANK YOU! #WhyNotYou.”

The space being utilized for the center/dance hall is the very first Why Not You Foundation Center in Atlanta, according to Rolling Out. The Why Not You Foundation a nonprofit Ciara co-founded with her husband, NFL quarterback Russell Wilson with the mission to inspire and empower the next generation.

For Ciara, this studio is more than just four walls and a dance floor, it’s a space for kids to build confidence, express themselves, and find/build community. “Dance has always been about self-expression for me,” Ciara shared. “It gives you energy, confidence, and helps connect people.”

Ciara is unquestionably continuing to build a legacy not only for herself and her family, but for generations of young people. 

Ciara and Russell Wilson married in July of 2016. Together, they’re raising a full squad: daughters Amora and Sienna Princess (8), son Win Harrison (5), and Ciara’s eldest, Future Zahir (11), whom she shares with ex-fiancé, rapper Future.
