Coco Austin wasn’t able to hide her emotions as daughter Chanel headed off for her first day of fourth grade last week.

The 46-year-old model and wife of Law & Order: SVU star Ice-T shared a series of Instagram posts capturing the big day.

In a video shared on September 8, Austin and Chanel were seen sitting in their car together before heading into school.

“I’m dropping her off. I can’t cry… this has to be the first year,” Coco said in the clip.

Chanel, rocking bold blue streaks in her hair, playfully replied, “I think she’s going to cry.” 

Coco captioned the post: “Little chit chat with my mini before we walked into a new school this year… 4th grade jitters… But I really do hope she thinks of me during the day..lol #firstdayofschool #4thgrade #schooldays.”

On September 4, Austin also posted a photo of Chanel holding a sign that read “My first day of 4th grade.”

Coco admitted in her caption that she still finds the annual ritual hard.

“First days of school are always sweet and bitter for me.. I hate to see her go but love to see her excited about school and to see her friends,” she wrote. “I hate to admit this but I’m jealous of school sometimes because they spend more time with her more than me during the year. But I’m proud of the little human she has become.”

As for Chanel’s striking hair color, Coco revealed her daughter was the one behind her new hairstyle.

“Had some fun with Chanel’s hair recently,” she explained in an Aug. 25 Instagram post. “She’s been feeling the color blue lately, so I finally gave in.”

Chanel is the only child of Coco and Ice-T, 67, who is also dad to daughter LaTesha, 49, and son Tracy Jr., 33, from previous relationships.
