There have been rumors and speculation flying around for quite a while that Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo and Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson are a couple. In fact, many fans have dubbed their relationship the worst-kept secret in basketball as the two have been spotted out together numerous times, were seen cheering one another on courtside, and shouted each other out on social media.
But despite the evidence, the two have played coy when asked if they’re dating. That is until Wilson confirmed what everyone has been assuming since their first public appearance together in 2024.

Wilson confirms she dating ‘her favorite Olympian’ Adebayo
Rumors about Wilson and Adebayo being an item started prior to the 2024 Paris Olympics. Once they got to the City of Love, those rumors went into overdrive with fans watching their interactions away from the court.
While the NBA and WNBA star have been linked for months as they attended the same galas and were photographed out on date nights, they hadn’t confirmed the romance rumors. But that changed when Wilson gave Adebayo a special shoutout.
On Feb. 3, 2025, the South Carolina Gamecocks, who Wilson played for in college, honored her by retiring her jersey number. Adebayo was one of the guests in attendance and during her speech, Wilson thanked her “favorite Olympian from out of town.”
The following day in an interview with Elle the Aces center was asked why she decided to go public with their relationship then.
“The beautiful thing about our relationship, and our bond, is that we’re very aware of things,” she shared. “We know how to navigate through a lot of different things and never shy from moments, but also make sure that we uplift [each other].
“I would’ve been doing a disservice if I did not mention my favorite Olympian. Because of that favorite Olympian, you see the best of me. Because of the care and the support that not a lot of people see all the time. If I did not recognize my special Olympian, he wouldn’t be able to get his flowers. So in that sense, I think it was just a perfect time. It was just a moment that I would love to share because people should know that I’m not alone. I have an amazing support system behind me.”
Who’s older and who has a higher net worth?
After Wilson finally let the cat out of the bag, fans had questions about the couple from who’s older to who has the higher net worth.
Wilson is just a bit older than her beau. She was born to parents Roscoe Jr. and Eva Wilson in Columbia, South Carolina on Aug. 8, 1996. And Adebayo was born to parents John Adebayo Marilyn Blount in Newark, New Jersey on July 18, 1997.
As for which basketball center has the higher net worth, well Wilson is one of the WNBA’s top earners raking in around $200,000 a season. Thanks her to her partnership with Nike as well as other endorsements and business ventures she has a net worth of $3 million, according to Essentially Sports.
While Wilson’s net worth is nothing to sneeze at, Adebayo is worth much more. Sportskeeda noted that his estimated net worth is $22 million. His earnings come from not just his NBA salary but also his brand endorsement deals and other investments he’s made over the years.
