In the clip, he poses the provocative question, “Can three people in your family come up with one million naira within an hour? If not, you have no business getting married. Focus on improving your family’s financial situation first.“
This statement has quickly captured public attention, prompting a lively debate among Nigerians about whether financial readiness should influence marriage plans.

Nigerians share differing opinions
Reacting to the video, Akikanju wrote: “It’s not about not getting married because of money, it’s about how you get married. You and your partners must have a conversation on how to proceed in a way that doesn’t wreck you and your family financially.
Many spend millions on their wedding, enough money to buy or build a house. Get a marriage license, do a small get together and plan a big reception later in the future. Don’t let peer pressure wreck your finances.”
Another user, Dika, highlighted the economic realities facing many Nigerians. According to the comment: “Well, I got his perspective. This should be a matter of emergency in this country. People are barely feeding,hand to mouth, salary finishes ones it drops. No proper savings. Nothing nothing. God help us all.”
