Coronation Street actor Adam Little has confirmed his exit from the soap after his character Blake Myers was sent to prison.

Taking to Instagram the star, who joined the show in June 2022, paid tribute to the soap’s cast and crew before describing bad boy Blake as ‘crazy’.

Adam’s final scenes aired on Monday night with viewers rejoicing after his character was sentenced for the stabbing of Alya Nazir [Sair Khan] as well as the attempted murder of Maria Connor [Samia Longchambon].

Sharing a black and white snap of himself on the famous street he wrote:  ‘Thank you to @coronationstreet for the opportunity to be a part of this storyline and play crazy man Blake!’

‘It’s been a blast working with such a friendly cast and crew who have made me so welcome’.

Before adding: ‘Thank you to all the viewers who have supported and sent me lovely messages it’s really appreciated.’

Former co-star Luke Delaney (who played Dave Fairchild) commented: ‘Smashed it lad. See you out there.’

Blake’s prison sentence was climax of the show’s terrifying extremism plot that promoted 72 complaints to Ofcom.

The scene in question  took place as Maria gave a speech at an event organised to highlight the Weatherfield refugee drop-in centre.

As Maria welcomed the refugees, Max Turner was on his phone listening to a character named Blake making a racist speech pledging to put an end to the refugee centre by whatever means necessary.

A far right gang has recently groomed the teen, isolating him from his loved ones and pushing him to help spread Griff’s racist agenda.

Blake has also been manipulated and acted out by attempting to murder councillor Maria.

Pushing his way through the crowd in the restaurant Black revealed he had a knife on him and Alya stepped in front of Maria as he tried to hurt her.

Alya was stabbed and seriously injured in the struggle before Gary Windass, played by Mikey North, tackled Blake to the ground.

However, it was too late for Alya as she dropped down clutching her chest where her wound was bleeding.

Blake was arrested by police and blamed the attack on Max.

Viewers were left less than impressed by the ‘bloody violence’ scenes and took to Twitter to complain about the dark episode.

MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for Coronation Street for comment.

It comes as serial killer Stephen Reid will put himself under even more pressure on the show next week, as he plots a secret business deal behind Carla Connor’s back.

In upcoming scenes, Stephen joins forces with Sarah Platt and Michael Bailey to bring in a slew of new clients, even asking Beth Tinker to work through the night to make up some samples.

But, Stephen struggles to hide his deal from Carla when she nearly spots the client in the factory… will she realise what he’s been up to.

Stephen (Todd Boyce) has been desperate to boost his earnings in recent weeks after killing Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin) and his son Leo (Joe Frost) to hide his mounting debts.

And next week, Michael (Ryan Russell) and Sarah (Tina O’Brien) agree they need to think big with their designs and bombard all of the retailers on Stephen’s list.

However, it appears that Sarah’s workload could spark tension in her relationship with Adam, as she turns down their dinner plans.

Admitting she needs to work late again as they’re trying to win a big contract, Adam (Samuel Robertson) tells her that they need to make time to talk about having a baby.

Sarah admits that now isn’t the right time to be thinking about a baby, and in the factory she watches as Beth (Lisa George) works away on new samples.

Having spent all night working on them, Beth admits to Michael that her machine has jammed, and if Carla (Alison King) sees it she’ll realise she’s been moonlighting.

Sarah and Michael meet up with Rufus from Donahues and show him their samples, while Stephen shows him around the factory.

However, his cover is nearly blown when Carla returns and Stephen quickly steers Rufus away.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
