Court Schedules Ruling Date on New Investigation into Mohbad’s Death

The Federal High Court in Abuja has earmarked September 29 to issue a ruling on a case that calls for an intensified investigation into the circumstances that led to the singer Mohbad’s death.

On Thursday, June 25, Justice James Omotosho set this date after considering submissions from Chief Tunde Falola, representing the Registered Trustees of Break the Silence Foundation.

The foundation had filed the suit, urging the court to order the Nigeria Police Force to reopen its investigation into Mohbad’s passing.

However, the Inspector-General of Police, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police all listed as respondents were absent and not represented during the proceedings.

With no counter-arguments presented, Falola adopted all filed processes on behalf of the foundation and asked the court to grant the reliefs being sought.
