The Fourth of July isn’t just about fireworks and cookouts, it’s a moment to reflect, reconnect, and reimagine what freedom and community really mean. Make your 4th about economic empowerment too. From candles to clothing to cupcakes, there’s no shortage of amazing entrepreneurs to uplift.

Write letters to veterans or active-duty military

A simple, heartfelt thank-you can go a long way. Make it a family craft activity and send a little love to those who serve.

Teach your kids the real story

Take a moment to talk about Juneteenth, indigenous land, and the many layers of America’s journey to “freedom.” Age-appropriate honesty is a gift that will make the 4th even more special and meaningful.

Dance, sing, make s’mores, wear red-white-and-blue nail polish. Joy can be revolutionary too.
