Dani Dyer has revealed that she is getting help from her husband, West Ham footballer Jarrod Bowen, ahead of the Strictly Come Dancing launch.

The former Love Island star, 29, was announced as part of the line-up in the latest series of Strictly, which will launch next Sunday, September 20.

She told the Mail: ‘Jarrod is so excited for me and so supportive. I’m so lucky I have such a supportive family. I said to him: “Can we dance together?”

‘I will definitely be getting him up in the kitchen, we’ve got to have a little dance.’

The pair got married in a lavish ceremony in June at the Langley Hotel, Buckinghamshire, where she wore a stunning £10,000 off-the-shoulder Suzanne Neville gown.

She also opened up about what it was like to dance in front of her wedding guests, which included their twin daughters, Summer and Star, two, as well as Dani’s four-year-old son, Santiago, from a previous relationship.

She said: ‘Our first dance was nothing massive. We had two days before the wedding, and I said: “Babe, we have to try something.”

‘And he was like: “I will just spin you around, pick you up and give you a big kiss at the end.”

‘Honestly, that first dance feels like it goes on for ages. You have got everyone watching you, and you’re just two-stepping. So we did that.’

Dani said she was ‘so excited’ to be a part of the BBC dance competition.

She added: ‘I knew I was going to have a great time, but I just feel like it is even better than I could even imagine. It’s dance, it’s fun. Today I was watching all the professionals. I get home and I’m just so excited.’

The gruelling training for the show will mean she will be away from her children for long periods at a time, but Dani admitted she couldn’t turn down the ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’.

She added: ‘My kids, especially my eldest, he loves dancing. He loves a bit of Katy B. He’s moved on from Peppa Pig. He’s four. I know they will be super proud. This is a time to enjoy.’

Her dad, Rivals actor Danny Dyer, 48, has also been a big support for the reality TV star as she prepares to take to the ballroom.

She told the Mail: 'Jarrod is so excited for me and so supportive. I’m so lucky I have such a supportive family. I said to him: "Can we dance together?". I will definitely be getting him up in the kitchen'

She said: ‘He’s coming to the first live show. He gets really emotional about things. He will probably cry. He’s just so proud. He’s a proper girl dad. He really is. He’s like: “Just go and enjoy it and smash it”. He’s really excited for me.’

‘I said to him: “Do you want to come?” and he said: “Absolutely. I will come whenever I can.”‘

Dani has faced criticism for having previous dance experience before signing up for the popular dance show.

However, she has made it clear that her experience was only as a child.

She said: ‘When I was a little girl, I always loved to dance. There was a little class in East London that I went to called Peggy O’Farrells’.

‘I loved it when I was a little girl, but then you hit your teenage years and you lose confidence and wonder whether you can do this.

She concluded: ‘But I regretted it because I really love to dance, it was so fun.’
