Shai Moss, daughter of rapper Bow Wow, and Laiyah Brown, daughter of singer Monica, recently teamed up for the viral “It Depends” TikTok dance challenge. With their incredible dance moves, these girls are definitely proving that talent runs in the family as they dance alongside dancers from Chris Brown’s tour.

The girls shared side-by-side videos on July 30, showing off their choreography to Chris Brown and Bryson Tiller’s track “It Depends.” Both clips instantly sparked buzz across social media.
Laiyah captioned hers: “Ayyy #dance #chrisbrowndancers,” while fans quickly filled the comments with praise.
One TikTok user wrote, “Laiyah and Shai….YOU BOTH DID GREAT!!!”
Another commented, “Chris finna add yall to the dance crew.”
A third user wrote, “Bow Wow & Monica’s babies are really cutting it up.”
Some followers couldn’t help but point out just how much the girls resemble their famous moms.
“Shai dances just like my girl Joie Ommgg this is so surreal to see,” wrote one TikToker.

Shai, 14, is the daughter of Bow Wow (real name Shad Moss) and dancer Joie Chavis. He also shares a 5-year-old son, Stone, with model Olivia Sky. Monica’s daughter Laiyah, 11, is from her previous marriage to NBA star Shannon Brown. Monica also has two sons, Romelo, 17, and Rodney, 20, with ex-Rodney “Rocko” Hill.
The dance duo shared their latest moves in a collaborative Instagram post, where proud mom Joie Chavis commented, “Without meeeeee, but yall ate!!!!.”
This isn’t their first viral moment. Earlier in July, Shai and Laiyah posted TikToks documenting their night at Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour. From cowboy-inspired fits to matching dance videos, the girls gave fans a full behind-the-scenes look. One clip featured their coordinated looks, Shai in a denim-on-denim Canadian tuxedo and Laiyah rocking a cow-print set as they danced along to a trending Beyoncé remix.
Their friendship continues to thrive, even with distance between them. Shai lives in Los Angeles while Laiyah resides in Atlanta, but the two have stayed close. Monica previously told People Magazine that Shai flew out to attend Laiyah’s 11th birthday celebration in September 2024.
“She got to see Shai, who is one of her closest friends,” Monica shared. “It meant a lot for Bow to make sure [Shai] was there.”
From dance floors to stadium tours, these two next-gen stars are clearly making moves and we are unquestionably here for every step.
