Rapper DDG has lost his latest legal bid in the ongoing custody battle with Halle Bailey, as a judge denied his request to block her from traveling internationally with their 17-month-old son, Halo.

The 27-year-old rapper and YouTuber, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. recently petitioned the Los Angeles Superior Court to prohibit the The Little Mermaid actress from traveling to internationally with their 18-month-old son Halo.

In the initial filing, DDG claimed the trip to Italy could pose an “imminent emotional and psychological risk” to Halo and DDG raised concerns about Halle’s mental well-being.

According to documents obtained by USA Today, two days ago, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Latrice A. G. Byrdsong denied the request in a filing. The order read that DDG’s “request for an order prohibiting (Bailey) from traveling outside the United States with the parties’ minor child (Halo) is denied.”

Judge Byrdson’s ruling came about as a result of “insufficient evidence of imminent emotional and psychological risk to the minor child during (Bailey’s) business trip to Italy.” The judge also referenced her previous ruling granting Bailey’s domestic violence restraining order, that was granted in May. 

The judge also requested for “further evidence” to be provided at their scheduled June 24 hearing “for the Court to issue more restrictive orders as the Court has granted sole legal and physical custody to (Bailey) temporarily until the next court hearing.”

Baily and DDG have been in the midst of this developing custody battle for weeks now. The couple went their separate ways in October of 2024, after much reflection and discussion.

At the time, they both agreed to co-parent their son; however, things have deteriorated between the duo to the point where they both seeking sole custody.
