‘Superman’ actor Dean Cain is joining ICE ‘ASAP,’ framing the decision as a patriotic duty with financial benefits.

Dean Cain is no longer just an actor. He’s publicly aligning himself with ICE and its immigration agenda. Recently, Superman announced he’s joining the federal agency. Using his celebrity to bolster recruitment, the 59-year-old has been vocal about his plans and motivations. However, Cain’s stance has sparked backlash in a politically charged climate. As he detailed the benefits he’ll receive on social media, fans wonder, “Is Superman in need of a paycheck?”

Dean Cain joins ICE and encourages his fans to do the same

Best known for playing Clark Kent in the popular ’90s TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Dean Cain made a surprising announcement via Instagram and Fox News. The actor plans to be “sworn in as an ICE agent, ASAP.” Cain framed the decision as a patriotic duty, saying, “This country was built on patriots stepping up… I truly believe this is the right thing.” He continued, “I will do whatever Director [Todd] Lyons wants me to do,” regarding guidance from the acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

A self-described “sworn deputy sheriff and reserve police officer,” Cain promoted the benefits of joining ICE, including a $50,000 signing bonus, student loan repayment, and enhanced retirement options. This prompted many pop culture fans to wonder if the actor was in dire need of money. One Instagram commenter wrote, “Weird way to announce you’re broke.” Another commented, “When your acting career crumbles…”

However, when asked by Fox News host Jesse Watters whether he’ll take the $50,000 signing bonus, Cain laughed and responded, “I don’t think I’m going to be eligible for that one. I don’t think they’re going to give it to me. But, you know, in true Pocahontas fashion, absolutely.”

Dean Cain’s acting career post-Superman

Cain has frequently appeared as a guest commentator on political and pop culture talk shows. But he hasn’t landed many major acting roles since Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. The Michigan native hosted Ripley’s Believe It or Not! from 2000–03. Cain had small roles in Smallville and Supergirl. However, crime dramas and Hallmark and Lifetime movies have been his bread and butter since the late ’90s.

What is Dean Cain’s net worth?

Dean Cain’s net worth is approximately $10 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. A breakdown of his estimated earnings includes $5-$6 million from acting in TV and movies, $1-$2 million in hosting appearances, $1 million from producing and directing, and $1 million from real estate.

Cain’s ICE recruitment announcement coincides with a significant enforcement push under the Trump administration, including $75 billion in additional ICE funding. The initiative aims for large-scale raids and 3,000 daily arrests, prompting widespread protests. Cain’s involvement stoked the flames of controversy among Americans who find it to be the “most un-Superman thing you could possibly advocate,” as one Instagram user commented on his Reel.
