Denise Richards accuses Aaron Phypers of shocking physical abuse

Denise Richards’ split from husband Aaron Phypers is turning nastier by the day, with the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum now seeking court-ordered protection following a string of disturbing allegations.

Phypers, 51, filed for divorce earlier this month after six years of marriage, listing July 4 as the official date of separation.

The filing cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the breakup — and he’s asking the court to grant him spousal support from Richards, 54.

Though the couple still appear together on their family reality series Denise Richards & Her Wild Things alongside her daughters Sami, 21, Lola, 19, and Eloise, 13, a source told DailyMail.com their marriage had become ‘toxic.’

Things took a far darker turn this week when court documents — including graphic photos — obtained by DailyMail.com revealed that on July 16, Denise filed for protection, accusing Phypers of horrific abuse that allegedly spanned their entire relationship.

‘Throughout our relationship, Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back to the point where I would have to plead with him to get off me so that he would not kill me and hack into my laptop and phone and download all of my text messages,’ Denise stated in her Request for Domestic Violence Retraining Order.

DailyMail.com has not received a response to its request for comment from reps for both Richards and Phypers.

She also alleged that ‘Aaron regularly threatened to ‘break my jaw’ and would cry, beg me to stay, and promise to get help — none of which ever happened.’

She claimed, ‘Aaron has caused me at least three concussions. Aaron has told me that he has left recording devices to record me while I was alone in hotel rooms and at my townhouses.’

Detailing a July 4 confrontation, Denise said, ‘Aaron repeatedly got within two inches of my face and screamed at me degrading profanities, including calling me a ‘c*** w****’ and a ‘piece of s***.’”

The following day, she alleged, ‘Aaron came into her townhouse with his father and ‘got within inches of my face and began yelling at me, calling me a ‘c*** w****’ multiple times and with his right hand violently hit the bill of my hat with the back of his hand which caused my hat to fall off my head.’

Richards added that ‘Aaron repeatedly grabbed my left arm tightly.’

‘Later that day, Aaron chased me and grabbed both of my arms forcefully and pushed me and dragged me to the ground,” she said. “I landed on the stairs, causing immense pain. Aaron stole my laptop and sent private messages he had stolen from my laptop without my permission.’

She added, ‘Aaron threatened that I would ‘disappear’ if I called the police.’

In the filing, Denise submitted several photos as evidence — including two showing her with a severe black eye, the bruising dark purple and visibly swollen.

She also included pictures from a red carpet event, where she claimed she forgot to conceal marks allegedly left by Aaron.

‘I would typically apply makeup to cover Aaron’s bruises that he caused me. On June 2, 2023, we had a red carpet event where I forgot to cover the bruise on my arm. A true and correct copy of a picture of the bruise is attached here to as Exhibit ‘2,’’ Denise stated.

In the photo, Denise is wearing a sleeveless gown, with what appears to be markings on her left arm.

Denise also described another alleged incident that took place on May 21.

‘While I was asleep and without my permission, Aaron went into my settings on my laptop and through my iCloud account synched my iMessages (text messages) to my laptop and downloaded everything from my iCloud (which included my private text messages) onto my laptop and then took pictures of my text messages (which were then on my laptop). Aaron also transferred my text messages to his laptop.

‘Aaron woke me up and screamed at me: ‘You fucking bitch. I went into your computer and saw your text messages because your laptop was open while we were watching the movie on Netflix…I clicked sync iMessage so that your text messages would appear on your laptop and everything downloaded and I took photos of everything you lying bitch.

‘Later, while I was on the toilet peeing, Aaron smashed me on the top of my head with the palm of his hand while screaming at me repeatedly, ‘Give me your f****** phone.’

She also wrote, ‘Threatened to kill me.He owns at least 8 unregistered guns.’

‘Aaron owns at least eight unregistered guns and multiple bullet proof vests. He has told me multiple times over the course of the last two years that because the guns are unregistered that if he used them no one would be able to track them,’ Denise wrote.

So far, Phypers has not publicly responded to the abuse claims.

Phypers, 52, was the founder of the Malibu wellness center, Q360 Club (also known as Quantum 360), until he chose to shut it down last year, on October 1, 2024.

According to his petition for divorce, filed on July 7, he has not made any income since.

His estranged wife, Richards, allegedly makes $250,000 per month from being on OnlyFans, TV shows, having brand deals and doing appearances, he noted in the income and expense declaration obtained by the Daily Mail.

He’s requesting spousal support since he alleges his monthly expenses total $105,000, and is demanding he and Richards split 50 percent of their production company, Smoke & Mirrors Entertainment.

While there is some mystery as to what happened to the wellness center, the Daily Mail has exclusively learned the reason why Phypers could not ‘keep the business afloat and keep it running,’ according to a source.

The insider insisted the business ‘cost Aaron a fortune.’

‘Ultimately, it was too expensive to operate and get the machines he needed and to pay rent,’ they said, adding, ‘Denise was unwilling to invest in it.’

According to documents obtained by the Daily Mail, Richards and Phypers signed the Wellness Center’s lease on June 1, 2018, and the term was for seven years, set to expire on February 28, 2025 – five months after he shut it down.

They had paid a security deposit of $23,947.50, at the time and agreed to pay the monthly rent of $11,973.75.

It appears that there have been issues from the get-go. In 2018, Phypers separately filed an LLC for ‘Quantum R.E.A.C.H.’ (Q360 was under another LLC, Quantum Epigenetics Consulting).

Although the business was never made public, the Daily Mail has learned it became a ‘liability’ from the beginning and the board of directors were dropping like flies.

An insider familiar with Quantum R.E.A.C.H. told the Daily Mail that Phypers lost board members early on.

‘There was a board of directors, but then they all decided to leave after a week,’ the insider spilled. ‘They decided to leave since it became a liability for their reputations.

‘They just initiated the business for one week and then once they weren’t getting compliance with the guidance they were providing, they left. They separated themselves from Aaron and Quantum.’

Another mystery is why Phypers registered Quantum R.E.A.C.H. as a charity.

The July 2019 registration form, obtained by the Daily Mail, shows that Phypers and other directors stated that their business’ mission is to ‘research, educate and implement new innovative technologies for optimal health and wellness’.

A letter from the IRS granted Quantum R.E.A.C.H. a charity and stated that the company was exempt from paying federal income tax. It also noted that they are qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts.

However, it’s status as an exempt organization was later revoked by the IRS in March 2022. The revocation was apparently because they did not file a tax return.

Per the IRS website, organizations’ tax-exempt status can be automatically revoked if they fail to file required Form 990 series returns for three consecutive years.

Although Richards’ name wasn’t listed in the initial registration form, she was named Secretary and Chief Financial Officer in the latest statement of information form filed in February 2024 – just months before Q360 shut down. Phypers was still listed as CEO.

The LLC itself was marked as suspended prior to this in October 2021, after they failed to file documentation with the California Secretary of State.

In recent years, Quantum Epigenetics Consulting LLC/Q360 had been named in numerous lawsuits and tax filings in the state of California (specifically from 2020 to 2021).

Although many tax issues have been paid off, there are still two ongoing cases.

The Creditors Adjustment Bureau filed a lawsuit against Phypers and Quantum Epigenetics Consulting LLC in Santa Monica Courthouse in July 2022.

They claimed he had not paid the principal sum of $190,000, loaned to him by Ontario Inc., by the due date November 1, 2020. A judgment was entered in June 2024 and the court ruled that he owed the plaintiff a total of $228,901.45.

The lawsuit took a shocking turn when the creditors attempted to drag Richards into it in January 2025 since Phypers wasn’t paying up – they argued the law allowed them to execute the judgment on the debtor’s spouse.

In May, Phypers’ attorneys opposed the motion and the Creditors Adjustment Bureau argued back, stating that he would have had to declare that they were not married.

They also stated that the business owner failed to provide evidence that he and Richards’ property is separate rather than community property – hinting that the duo might not have a prenup in place.

The bureau writes: ‘However, Judgment Debtors do not claim that such agreement exists between Aaron Phypers and his spouse. If such agreement existed, Aaron Phypers would have unequivocally stated so and would have presented the evidence in his Opposition. However, Judgment Debtor did not produce such evidence because it does not exist.’

A judge denied the motion without prejudice on June 4. Reasons included a lack of proof of service to Richards, an absence of evidence proving the marriage was inadmissible, and a lack of specificity in the motion that there were wage earnings on Richards’ part tied to the Plaintiff’s community property argument.

The case is still ongoing and the next hearing is set for September.

Another lawsuit brought against Phypers was initiated in November 2024 by a California man named Rupert Perry, who filed on behalf of his late wife, Elina Katsioula-Beall – a former ‘award-winning art director for stage and television.’

Denise has two children from her previous marriage to Charlie Sheen - Sami, 21, (far left) and Lola, 20 (far right) - and she adopted Eloise, 14, in 2011 (in front)

His lawsuit was for breach of oral contract and fraud. In the court documents, he claims Phypers misrepresented the effectiveness of a stem cell treatment for cancer offered at Quantum 360.

Katsioula-Beall, who was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer in 2019, sought treatment  in 2023 after Phypers allegedly assured her the stem cell therapy would ‘cure or at least ameliorate’ her condition.

Phypers claimed it had a 98 percent success rate and allegedly promised a 50 percent refund of the $126,000 treatment cost if it did not work, per the court documents.

The widower noted in his complaint that, after undergoing the treatment, an MRI showed that Katsioula-Beall’s tumors had grown by 25 percent.

The couple requested the agreed-upon refund multiple times, but Phypers allegedly ignored these requests and instead suggested additional treatments. Katsioula-Beall died in May 2024.

The plaintiff claimed that he spoke to Phypers over the phone who acknowledged the debt, but ‘proffered a series of excuses’ for failing to reimburse them.

Perry is seeking $63,000 – 50 percent of the $126,000 they allegedly paid – plus additional damages through a jury trial. Phypers has yet to respond to the lawsuit.

The most recent filing was on June 9, 2025 – an order for The Malibu Times to publish Perry’s lawsuit as a form of servicing the summons to Aaron since previous attempts have failed.
