DeSean Jackson and Yahaira “Yaya” Sandoval are expecting their first child together — a baby boy named Hype.

The couple recently celebrated the upcoming arrival with a blue and white bear themed baby shower.

Dressed in coordinating white looks — Sandoval in a white dress and Jackson in a white top and tan pants — the two looked in complete bliss.

Sandoval shared photos from the event on Instagram with the caption, “A Time Was Had .” 

Jackson, a former NFL star and current football coach at Delaware State University, and Sandoval, an entrepreneur, have been romantically linked since 2024. Over the past year, they’ve appeared together at public events and on vacations, gradually sharing more of their relationship on social media.

This will be their first child together, though Jackson is already a father. In 2023, he filed for sole custody of his sons with ex-partner Kayla Phillips. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Jackson alleged that Phillips had only seen their children twice that year and accused her of abandoning them.

He also claimed that after moving to California in 2020, he brought the children back from Florida for a visit in early 2023, but Phillips allegedly delayed their return and eventually cut off communication.

“[She] stopped calling me about the children’s return, so I enrolled the children in school here in Los Angeles and the children have been living with me since,” Jackson stated in the filing.

Jackson further claimed that Phillips is now involved in a religious group called “The Most High” and is dating a man he described as having “cult-like behavior.”

While it’s unclear where custody currently stands, Jackson’s sons were not pictured at the baby shower. However, Sandoval’s son from a previous relationship did appear in the photos, posing with the couple as they celebrated their growing family.
