As violence strikes across the city, a lawyer trying to live by the book must save her kidnapped niece – her gangleader brother’s daughter – from the crooked police who took her. Decider’s John Serba wrote that State of Fear is a “surprising and thematically sturdy film” and urges viewers to watch it, as it runs the risk of becoming a “deeply underappreciated action film.”

The documentary dives deep into the case with never-before-seen footage from the investigation and firsthand knowledge from the detectives, family members and hospital staff involved with the case.
