Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle chronicles the adventure of four high school students who discover an ancient video game console during detention. As they select their avatars—each wildly different from their real-life personas—they are pulled into the game’s jungle world, where survival becomes their ultimate quest. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan, this film, directed by Jake Kasdan of Red One fame, was followed by a successful sequel in 2019, Jumanji: The Next Level.

Rudd and Black star in the 2025 film as two friends who lead a film crew into the Amazon rainforest to film a remake of the movie they know and love. But their trip takes a turn when they actually come across the deadly animal. Thandiwe Newton and Steve Zahn also star in this comedy, rounding out the movie’s “game-for-anything cast,” as Decider’s John Serba put it in his review.
