To no one’s surprise, MrBeast is thinking big for grand prizes on his new Prime Video competition series, Beast Games. On this week’s episode, the YouTube star announced that he would be giving away a $1.8 million island—and that’s in addition to the show’s $5 million grand prize.

The tropical paradise is complete with a large cabana, ten bungalows, a ping pong table, a swimming pool and a PlayStation.

This is not the first island the social media creator has given away. In November 2020, he made headlines when he announced a giveaway for a private $1.2 million island in the Bahamas. To enter the contest, fans were required to follow him on social media and share the giveaway with their friends.

Where is the Beast Games island located?

MrBeast’s island, aka La Vivienda Island (aka Isla La Vivienda), is located in the Pearl Islands in Panama, approximately 30 miles south of the mainland. The island is uninhabited, surrounded by bright blue waters, and neighbored by islands Bayoneta and Malaga.

Several islands in the Pearl Archipelago have been used for additional competition shows as well, including Survivor.

Jimmy Donaldson (MrBeast) built the cabana and bungalows on the private property specially for the competition series.

How do contestants win MrBeast’s island?

The episode kicks off with MrBeast addressing his 148 contestants: only 60 would get on a helicopter to the private island. The contestants embark on a Squid Game-style scramble to find the golden ticket, hidden somewhere in the “city” MrBeast built. The winner chooses five others to come with him.

Next, the contestants are blindfolded and must drop a ball as close to the end of a ten-minute timer as possible. The six players who are the closest get to board the helicopter to the island as well.

The following challenge, the contestants are each given coins and must come to a consensus on who to give their coins to. That player must receive 100 of 110 gold coins to receive the power to choose who gets to board the next helicopter.

Competitors continue participating in challenges until all the helicopters to the island are filled. The 60 players on the island are then presented with the opportunity to win the island itself.

Each person is asked if they want to compete for the island, but there will only be one winner who will return and continue to compete for the $5 million grand prize. The others who choose not to compete for the island are sent on an all-expense-paid luxury vacation on another island and get a free pass to the top 50.

Only nine people choose to take part in the contest to win the island.
