The most popular baby names for 2025 have been announced, and they feature some well-loved choices that show no sign of losing their appeal.

According to BabyCenter, Noah and Olivia have once again claimed the top spots as the most favored baby names of the year. This annual list, which ranks the top 100 names, draws from data collected from the BabyCenter app, where over 350,000 babies were registered this year. The platform has been monitoring naming trends for more than 20 years, providing valuable insights into the evolving preferences of new parents.

In a recent segment on the TODAY show, hosts Craig Melvin, Sheinelle Jones, and Al Roker took a playful stab at guessing the top names in light of the new findings. Although none hit the mark exactly, they weren’t shocked by the dominant names.

“We know a lot of Noahs,” Sheinelle remarked, highlighting the name’s widespread popularity.

Olivia’s continued dominance isn’t surprising either. As Craig pointed out, “Olivia has been at number one for six straight years and has been a top 10 name in the U.S. since 2001.” Al chimed in, noting, “I think it’s not coincidental. Did you ever read the ‘Olivia’ books to your daughters, the little girl pig?”

While Noah and Olivia remain steady favorites, BabyCenter reported a few shake-ups further down the list, especially for girls. Eliana (No. 7) and Aurora (No. 9) both broke into the top 10 for the first time, pushing Ava and Luna down to No. 11 and No. 13, respectively.

For boys, there was “less movement,” though one notable shift saw Leo fall just outside the top 10, landing at No. 11, while Luca made a comeback after missing the top tier last year.
