Sean “Diddy” Combs has been in jail since his 2024 arrest. The disgraced mogul is worth millions, so conditions behind bars are not what he is typically used to. Combs is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, and other inmates have complained about poor living conditions. Combs’ lawyer shared what the producer is finding most difficult about being in jail.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is reportedly struggling with the food in jail

Combs has been in jail since his arrest in Sept. 2024. His lawyers made multiple bail requests, but judges have ruled that he must remain behind bars until his trial in May. Life in the jail has not been easy for Combs, according to his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo. 

“I think the food’s probably the roughest part of it,” Agnifilo told The New York Post.

The Post discovered that Combs’ first meal in jail was either Swedish meatballs or a black bean burger. Egg noodles, green beans, and garden salad were his options for a side.

According to the New York State Corrections and Community Supervision menu, Combs’ has had multiple different food options in recent weeks. The General Confinement lunch and dinner menu features sheet pan pizza, chile con carne, minestrone soup, turkey chow mein, and sloppy joes. Breakfast options include oatmeal, waffles, grits, breakfast pizza, and bagels with cream cheese.

Combs also has the option of purchasing food from the commissary. Available items at MDC include various types of granola, nuts, Chips Ahoy, macaroni and cheese, eggplant parmesan meal, and different types of seasonings, among other things.

Some wondered if Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs would be too stressed to eat

Recent court sketches of Combs appear to show him as grayer and thinner than he was before his arrest. Larry Levine, a former inmate at MDC speculated that Combs might not be eating.

“There’s people out there that he has things on that do have a substantial amount of money,” Levine told NewsNation. “Imagine if someone paid someone off on the inside to actually poison his food, give him a heart attack and he dies, and no one would really think anything of it. So that may be one of the reasons he’s not eating.”

Levine noted that the food also just might not appeal to Combs.

“There’s mold in a lot of that food, the food coming to him is cold. It’s not coming to him warm like it would be in a regular housing unit, because they feed the people in the shoe last,” Levine said. “Maybe he got sick from the food. That’s another possibility.”

Other inmates at the jail have complained about the food and living conditions

Another notable inmate at MDC was Ghislaine Maxwell. She complained about the living conditions.

“I have not had a nutritious meal in all that time,” Maxwell told DailyMail.com, according to the New York Post. “I haven’t slept without lights on – fluorescent lights that have damaged my eyes – or been allowed to sleep without constant interruptions.”

She alleged that the jail had a rat problem and the food was terrible.

“They feed me rotten food,” she said. “One apple had maggots in it.”

Combs’ trial is set to begin on May 5.
