In the fifth episode of the second season of Landman, we witness TL Norris settling into his new surroundings at the M-Tex corporate crash pad in Midland. As he stands on the porch, gazing into the distance, the view offers a stark contrast to what he was accustomed to at his former assisted living facility. One of the first sights that catch his eye is Shelby, portrayed by Audrey McGraw. Shelby, a friend of Ainsley Norris (played by Michelle Randolph), lives next door and is frequently seen in her signature weekday attire—a red bikini complemented by a margarita. Curious about TL’s story, she strikes up a conversation.

“You got a cool voice,” Shelby remarks, drawing a parallel between TL Norris’s character and the iconic Sam Elliott, who lends his voice to the role. She even playfully mimics his deep, resonant tone, likening it to that of a classic movie trailer narrator: “Comin’ soon to a movie theater near you. Tom Cruise IS…The Falcon.”

As their exchange unfolds, Shelby learns a bit about TL, discovering that the grandfather next door once owned a Shelby Cobra, famed for being one of the fastest sports cars globally. But what do we really know about Shelby herself? Who is she in the context of Landman, and who is the actress Audrey McGraw, who brings her to life?

Well, first of all, Audrey McGraw has famous parents.

Audrey McGraw, who debuted as Shelby in the first season of the Texas oil drama Landman, is the daughter of country music stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Although Landman marks Audrey’s first professional foray into acting, her family is no stranger to the productions of the Sheridan-O-Verse. Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Landman, previously cast her parents in 1883, the prequel to Yellowstone, as characters James Dillard Dutton and Margaret Dutton.

Audrey McGraw is also a singer.

While Audrey’s acting career is just taking off, it’s no surprise that she has inherited the performing genes. She is also a musician, as seen on her Instagram, where she shares moments of her singing alongside Brandi Carlile. As her journey unfolds, it will be intriguing to see how Audrey McGraw carves her path in the entertainment world.

And Shelby is also at the Pirate Dinner. 

Audrey McGraw pops up again as Shelby later in Landman Season 2 Episode 5, when Angela’s big pirate-themed welcome dinner for TL is in full swing at the Midland house. We don’t know what else Taylor Sheridan has planned for Ainsley’s pal from next door. But whenever Shelby appears in Landman, good times usually follow.
