Percy Jackson and the Olympians has officially been renewed for a third season on Disney+—almost a year before the highly anticipated premiere of its second season.

According to Deadline, both Disney Branded Television and 20th Television revealed that the third season, based on Rick Riordan’s The Titan’s Curse, is already in production. Season 2 of the beloved series, however, won’t make its debut until December 2025, with the exact premiere date to be announced at a later time.

Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, expressed excitement over the show’s success, stating, “From the moment ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ debuted, it was clear this series had struck a chord with fans of all ages. With season two set to premiere this December, we’re thrilled to announce that Percy’s journey will continue with a third season. Huge thanks to our incredible cast and creative team, our partners at 20th Television, and our visionary and talented producers who continue to bring Rick Riordan’s world to life with such depth and imagination.”

Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians features Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, and Daniel Diemer, with production recently wrapping up in Vancouver.

Rick Riordan also expressed his gratitude for the show’s continued success, saying, “We’re so grateful to be continuing the story of Percy Jackson on Disney+. This third season will be new territory for the screen, bringing fan favorites like the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo to life for the first time. It’s a huge sign of commitment from Disney, and speaks volumes about the enthusiasm with which the fandom has embraced the TV show. Thank you, demigods worldwide!”

The news of the third season comes as little surprise, given the success of the first season on Disney+. According to Nielsen streaming data, the series was one of the top five most-watched original shows across all streaming platforms when it premiered in December 2023. Disney had also reported that the debut episode garnered 13.3 million views in its first six days on both Disney+ and Hulu, with a view defined as the total time watched divided by the episode’s runtime.

Created by Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is executive produced by Steinberg and Dan Shotz, alongside Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Craig Silverstein, The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, Jeremy Bell, and D.J. Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Albert Kim, Jason Ensler, and Sarah Watson. The show is produced by 20th Television.
