Beyoncé endorsed Kamala Harris during the 2024 election. Here’s why Donald Trump is now saying she should be prosecuted for it.
Donald Trump is currently going after Beyoncé for her endorsement of Kamala Harris in 2024. Beyoncé appeared at a rally for Harris’ presidential campaign, and Trump is claiming she received millions for her endorsement. While Beyoncé’s mother and publicist outright denied these claims in Oct. 2024 and they were proven to be untrue by multiple sources, Trump has stated that Beyoncé and other celebrities should face prosecution.
Donald Trump claimed Beyoncé received an illegal $11 million payment
In October, just after Beyoncé appeared at a Harris rally, claims surfaced online that she received $10 million for her endorsement. At the time, Beyoncé’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, told Politifact that the claim was “beyond ridiculous.”
Harris’ campaign also pushed back against the claim. While they paid for costs connected to celebrity appearances at rallies, they did not pay for endorsements. Per CNN, they paid $165,000 for costs related to Beyoncé’s appearance, but the singer did not receive this money herself. Multiple sources have corroborated this account of the payments.
Over the weekend, however, Trump dug up claims that celebrities like Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and Al Sharpton took huge payments from the Harris campaign in exchange for their endorsements. In a post on Truth Social, he called for an investigation into these alleged payments. He also claimed, not for the first time, that Beyoncé “left the stage to a booing and angry audience.”
“Kamala, and all of those that received Endorsement money, BROKE THE LAW,” he wrote in the post. “They should all be prosecuted!”
Both Sharpton and Winfrey have also denied claims that they received any kind of personal fee for their appearances at rallies.
