A beloved Cartoon Network series that many fondly remember from their childhood is about to make a triumphant return: Regular Show.
Fans can gear up to join Mordecai and Rigby on fresh escapades with the launch of Regular Show: The Lost Tapes. Set to premiere on Monday, May 11, this new season will unveil nine never-before-seen episodes. Excitingly, this is just the start, as there are 30 more episodes ready to roll out in the future.
J.G. Quintel, the show’s creator and star, expressed that these new episodes allow the series to revisit the elements that originally made it exceptional.
In a conversation with Variety, Quintel explained, “Eventually, we started receiving feedback that they wanted us to tone things down, and we had to remove some language and content that we couldn’t get away with anymore. But now, we’ve been able to recapture what made us so popular in the first place. I’m really excited for the new season because I feel like we’ve brought back that original vibe.”
Quintel also highlighted that the series will feature more than just standalone adventures. “It’s important to watch every episode, as there will be a rewarding payoff. Viewing it through to the end will be incredibly satisfying,” he suggested.
In addition to creating and executive producing the series, which premiered in 2010, Quintel also stars in the series as Mordecai, alongside Rigby voice actor William Salyers, and Sam Marin, Mark Hamill, Roger Craig Smiht and more.
