The tempest within the villa shows no signs of subsiding as Lucinda Strafford’s dramatic exit on Friday intensified her ongoing conflict with Jessy Potts. The latest episode unfolded with emotions running high, prompting host Maya Jama to step in and provide Lucinda with some much-needed support amidst a brewing ‘bullying’ controversy that has already drawn numerous Ofcom complaints.

This isn’t the first time viewers have witnessed tensions flare between Lucinda and her fellow islanders. Her ongoing feud with Belle Hassan has been a focal point for several episodes, largely ignited by Belle’s recent interactions with Scott van-der-Sluis, which Lucinda found objectionable.

The friction began when Lucinda decided to pair up with Sean Stone, who was previously with Belle. Feeling affronted, Belle voiced her disapproval, only for the situation to escalate further. Belle then turned her attention to Scott, despite his existing connection with Leanne Amaning.

In a bid to pursue her own interests, Belle initiated a conversation with Scott in the villa’s Secret Garden, drawing Lucinda’s ire and leading to a tense face-off between the two. This encounter not only added fuel to the fire but also captivated the audience, who eagerly followed every twist in the tale.

Viewers watched as Belle pulled Scott for a chat in the Secret Garden despite his rolling romance with Leanne, prompting Lucinda to take Belle aside and sparking a war of words.

Later on in the episode, as Lucinda did her speech by the fire pit and took a dig at her nemesis Belle, but Jessy was next to hit back telling her: ‘I’m a bit confused about the comments in the recoupling speech.’

Lucinda eventually stormed off after another with Jessy, who told her in a bitter exchange: ‘You’re going to make yourself look like a twat Lucinda, I’m trying to be here for you.’

Host Maya rushed to comfort her away from the other Islanders in the living room, saying: ‘It’s alright, obviously you’ve had disagreements with people, you’re not going to get on with everyone.’

‘I genuinely feel like it’s me against the world in this place,’ Lucinda replied emotionally.

But Maya quipped encouraging her: ‘It’s not. You’ve been great, you and Sean have a good connection. You said you’re here for love, you two are obviously on the right path so…’

‘The only good thing is me and Sean, it’s just like what the f***,’ Lucinda added.

‘I understand it’s a lot, you’re strong you can do it,’ the presenter remarked, with the Islanders replying: ‘I am.’

Maya tried to uplift her, saying: ‘Look let’s go back out. Don’t let things get the better of you. You look great.’

The ongoing drama sparked a series of complaints to Ofcom by fans watching at home, as it continues to roll through a number of the episodes.

On Wednesday’s instalment, as Lucinda made her speech by the fire pit, she appeared to take aim at Belle once again, saying: ‘There’s been some people in here that explored connections that hasn’t been genuine and some double standards that I’ve had to watch…’

Belle soon hits back: ‘Why is this f*****g speech about me?’

The two women continue to argue, and nothing is resolved between the duo, with Belle concluding: ‘I don’t want to speak to you, my issues I’ve dealt with – they’re none of your business.’

Lucinda later confessed to former show winner Millie Court: ‘I just wanted to say one final thing at the fire pit…I just want her [Belle] to see where I come from.’

Millie replied: ‘I don’t think any of you are ever gonna see eye-to-eye, you’re gonna go round in circles it’s pointless…at that point drop it.’

Jessy was next to hit back at Lucinda for her choice of words around the fire pit, telling her: ‘I’m a bit confused about the comments in the recoupling speech.’

‘What was going on with your mindset?’ Jessy asked, to which Lucinda responded: ‘I got scrutinised.

‘The last person I thought that would do the exact same is Belle, especially not to someone like Leanne… when I do it, I get screamed and shouted at…’

Jessy told her: ‘You know you love to rage bait…I think that you’re a smart girl and you’re underestimated.’

But Lucinda hit back: ‘I’m not here to explain the way I am…’ prompting the girls to engage in a furious clash as the rest of the villa watched on in shock.

Jessy later told Sean: ‘I back that you’re gonna support Lucinda no matter what but it’s not a conversation between us…’

Defending Lucinda, he responded: ‘I don’t think it was ever your place to say anything [to Lucinda] anyway…I‘m struggling to find your whole point to the conversation.’
